Orlando City will not appeal the red card issued to Kaká at the end of a 3-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls over the weekend, but the club made clear it does not agree with the ruling in a statement released Monday.
The red card came after a scuffle involving multiple players. As the incident came to an end, Kaká put his hand on the face of former teammate and current Red Bulls defender Aurélien Collin. The two then smiled and laughed.
After a video review, the official issued two yellow cards to Orlando City’s Cristian Higuita and New York’s Sean Davis and a straight red to Kaká for violent conduct.
