Orlando City got its first victory by more than one goal in over a year yesterday when the Lions used a second-half surge to blast MLS newcomers FC Cincinnati at Orlando City Stadium. Tesho Akindele and Nani each netted a brace and Dom Dwyer finally scored a goal after a few weeks’ worth of near-misses.
Cincinnati couldn’t stem the tide of goals once it started and it was nice to see the Lions finally cashing in on numerous chances after seeing so many go wanting in 2019. The three points were important in a rough stretch of games that saw Orlando play three times in an eight-day span, crossing the continent twice in the process.
