Orlando City will face former Lions coach Adrian Heath and Minnesota United for a spot in the MLS is Back Tournament final.
Heath led his Minnesota United side to a 4-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday night, securing a place in the tournament semifinals. Before taking over Minnesota, Heath led Orlando City for five years as the team first moved from Austin to Orlando and then transitioned from the USL to MLS level.
Since his firing in 2016, his rematches with Orlando City have been emotional for both sides. The Lions have never been able to best Heath, however, losing two games and earning a drawing during a third against Minnesota United during the past three seasons.
