Despite the absence of seven key players, a young Orlando City group kept the team’s unbeaten streak alive with a scoreless draw in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
Between injuries and international call-ups, Lions coach Oscar Pareja was forced to field a less experienced lineup for a road rivalry match against Atlanta United (5-8-3, 18 points).
It was the youngest starting group for the Lions (8-2-6, 30 points) all season, with the average age just under 25. The top attacking trio of Benji Michel, Andrés Perea and Daryl Dike clocked in at an average age of 20.
Four of the five backline starters were unavailable, leaving Robin Jansson to once again lead the backline alongside Rodrigo Schlegel, Kyle Smith and Kamal Miller.
