Orlando City starters Pedro Gallese, Sebas Méndez will report to national teams

Orlando City goalkeeper Pedro Gallese and midfielder Sebas Méndez will miss the next three matches of the MLS season to represent their national teams during South American World Cup qualifiers.

Gallese is the starting keeper for the Peruvian national team, while Méndez plays in the midfield for Ecuador. Both teams are scheduled to play qualifying matches on Oct. 8 and Oct. 13.

The international window comes at a critical juncture during the shortened MLS season. Gallese and Méndez will miss the Lions' upcoming matches against Atlanta United, the Columbus Crew and New York City FC.

The home match against the Crew could decide the Supporters Shield race and Eastern Conference crown.
