Orlando City announced a late addition to the roster Friday with the signing of Swiss-English defender Scott Sutter.
The Lions suffered multiple injuries on the back line during the preseason that worried head coach Jason Kreis, including hamstring injuries to both right backs Rafael Ramos and Kevin Alston.
Sutter, who was born in England, joined Major League Soccer from Swiss Super League club BSC Young Boys and has made appearances at right back for the Swiss national team.
In 2012, he played on loan for FC Zürich, where former Orlando City winger and fan-favorite Adrian Winter now plays.
