A day after Orlando City opened an international roster spot by waiving 2017 draft pick Danny Deakin, the club filled it with a player from their second-tier side Orlando City B.
The Lions acquired Brazilian defender Léo Pereira on a season-long loan from OCB. Pereira signed with OCB earlier this year on loan from partner club Clube Atlético Paranaense. He was the first player to move between the two clubs since announcing a formal partnership in November.
Pereira is the fourth player to rise from Orlando City SC’s United Soccer League team to its Major League Soccer team.
