Orlando City SC announced this afternoon that midfielder Jordan Bender has been signed to a Homegrown Player contract. The 18-year-old midfielder spent the 2019 season with Orlando City B in USL League One.
Bender came up through the Orlando City Development Academy before being signed to OCB last year. He played with the first team for much of the preseason before playing with the club’s second team in the third division. He made 16 appearances with 12 starts in 2019 with the young side.
“Jordan’s journey is the blueprint of exactly how we envision the pathway and future of the Orlando City SC development pyramid,” Orlando City Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi said.
