Orlando City stuck close to home in the final rounds of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, selecting defender Nick O’Callaghan with the No. 57 overall pick in the third round of the draft. The Lions deferred their final pick in the fourth round, making O’Callaghan the final selection for Orlando this year.
A native of Winter Springs, Florida, O’Callaghan transferred to Florida International University for his senior season after playing three years at Elon University. During his three seasons at Elon, he started 44 games while netting two goals and adding five assists. O’Callaghan only played in one match for FIU, but he scored a goal during the appearance.
