Orlando City selected goalkeeper Patrick McLain Friday in the first stage of the MLS re-entry draft.
McLain joins the Lions after playing for the Chicago Fire, where he backed up former UCF standout Sean Johnson, and competed for the team's USL affiliate Saint Louis FC.
McLain appeared in 29 matches for the MLS and USL clubs in 2015.
He recorded 71 saves with 2014 USL champion Sacramento Republic FC.
McLain, a native of Eau Claire, Wisc., is 28 and first signed with Chivas USA in 2012. He made his MLS debut in 2013.
