Orlando City’s first road match of the season against the New England Revolution has been rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The Lions were supposed to fly north Friday and play at Gillette Stadium at 2 p.m. Saturday. They were not looking forward to the weather forecast of snow, wind and temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
The game will be rescheduled for Sept. 2 at 7 p.m., the club announced Friday. The two sides also meet at Orlando City Stadium on Sept. 27.
“The decision to postpone the match was made by Major League Soccer and both clubs after forecasts of temperatures in the low 20s at kickoff, with a potential windchill in the single digits,” read a statement released by the club.
