Orlando City re-opened training sessions to the media Monday for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lions began preseason training March 1 to prepare for their second year under coach Oscar Pareja. The team won its third preseason scrimmage Saturday with a 1-0 win over the Columbus Crew.
Captain and designated player Nani picked up an unspecified injury during training and has not been competing with the team for scrimmages. The club has not confirmed a timeline for the winger’s return, and he was not visible in training Monday.
Starting keeper Pedro Gallese also sat out of Monday training as part of his recovery from playing a scrimmage Saturday.
