For a moment, there was silence.
All the yelling stopped. No whistle blew and the thump of drums subsided.
For a moment, there was peace — exactly what Orlando needed.
An announced crowd of 37,193 fans went to Camping World Stadium Saturday night for Orlando City's 2-2 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes. And in the 49th minute, they all fell silent as play stopped to honor the 49 victims of the country's deadliest mass shooting of the modern era.
When play resumed, the cheering did, too. There were glitter bombs and celebration when Seb Hines scored in the 66th minute and again when Júlio Baptista netted a goal in the 90th.
