Orlando City reaches agreement to keep midfielder Servando Carrasco

After intense negotiations, Orlando City and Servando Carrasco have agreed to terms that will keep the defensive midfielder in purple next season, sources told the Orlando Sentinel late Thursday.

The deal will be officially announced in the coming days, pending league approval.

Carrasco's contract was up at the end of the 2016 season, and many wondered if he would return to Orlando City given his wife, Alex Morgan, recently announced she will be playing for Olympique Lyonnais in France for the next six months, and possibly longer.

He also was left unprotected by the club in last week's MLS expansion draft, but was not selected.
