Orlando City faltered during its first road match in five months, falling 3-2 to Inter Miami Saturday during the second meeting between the two rivals.
The rivalry rematch came only 10 days after the Lions played in the MLS is Back Tournament final, a quick turnaround that afforded the team only two days of rest before an immediate return to training. Ahead of their first road match since March, Orlando City took a charter flight down to Miami early on match day morning, adding an extra weight of travel to their day.
The team’s resulting fatigue was apparent from the opening whistle.
