Play stops in the 49th minute of the Orlando City soccer match against San Jose for a moment of silence in honor of the 49 victims of the Orlando shooting.
One of the first things Jason Kreis saw when he flew into Orlando for a job interview last summer was a memorial. It was set up downtown, right across the street from his hotel.
“You could see right away what a big, big deal this was and how it affected the community,” Kreis said.
He’s now been an Orlando resident for about 11 months, coaching Major League Soccer’s Orlando City, and knows first-hand the impact of June 12, the day 49 people were killed in the Pulse nightclub shooting.
