Matías Pérez García was looking for a new opportunity prior to his move to Orlando City this past summer.
A productive 2015 season with the San Jose Earthquakes saw the Argentine record two goals and a team-high seven assists – four of them game-winners – during 25 starts and 27 total appearances. But entering the 2016 season, Pérez's playing time with the Quakes slowly dwindled.
It was time for a move -- a cross-country move.
"It was something I was looking forward to. I wanted to leave San Jose," Pérez said. "I just didn't understand how everything culminated during my last days there, but that's a thing of the past now.
