Orlando City midfielder Cam Lindley has been selected for the MLS Homegrown Game, to take place on July 31 in Atlanta.
The day prior to the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, Orlando City traded defender Rafael Ramos and $100,000 of Targeted Allocation Money to the Chicago Fire in exchange for the Homegrown rights to Lindley. The Lions subsequently signed the former North Carolina star to a four-year contract.
With injuries plaguing the Lions early on this season, Lindley started three of the team’s first four MLS games, playing 201 minutes. He was sent on loan with Pierre Da Silva for one game on May 25 and played 90 minutes with Saint Louis FC on May 26 against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, creating one chance, and registering a tackle, a clearance and a passing accuracy of 85% on 60 attempts.
