As the season winds down, players are beginning to think about their futures — especially those with contracts expiring at the end of the year.
That’s the case for Antonio Nocerino, 32, Orlando City’s Italian defensive midfielder who has the second-high salary on the team with a guaranteed $850,000, according to numbers released by the MLS Players Union.
Nocerino said before he hopes to finish his career in purple, but on Monday he told the Orlando Sentinel discussions with the club about his future have not yet begun.
“My intention is to finish my career here, the priority is Orlando,” Nocerino said in broken English.
