Orlando City found its fire again with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Thursday night, snapping a three-game winless skid and knocking off a top conference contender.
After several weeks of disjointed play, the result of injuries and international absences, the Lions surged back into the aggressive style of play that sparked their initial unbeaten run at the start of the season.
The win boosted the Lions (7-3-4, 25) back into the second spot in the Eastern Conference table, vaulting over Philadelphia (6-4-5, 23) to retake their position.
“It’s honestly a big relief,” forward Benji Michel said.
