Orlando City holds off rival Inter Miami, earns home win

Orlando City and Inter Miami forged a memorable chapter in their fledgling rivalry on Saturday night, with the Lions regaining their lead in the battle for state bragging rights with a 2-1 victory at Exploria Stadium.

In front of a limited but rowdy crowd of fans at Exploria Stadium, designated player Mauricio Pereyra held down the offense for the Lions (5-2-4, 19 points) during a hectic match.

Pereyra opened scoring in the 34th minute, curling a ball into the box on a free kick, where it ricocheted off Inter Miami defender Andrés Reyes and into the net.
