Orlando City’s 1-0 loss to Santos Laguna on Thursday highlighted an increasingly familiar challenge for the Lions — creating and finishing chances.
With an 8-4-6 regular-season record, the Lions aren’t accustomed to losing this year. The team has continued the growth started last year under coach Oscar Pareja, climbing into the second spot in the Eastern Conference table as the final third of the season nears.
But injuries and absences (and, sometimes, lack of luck) struck the Lions more frequently this summer, most recently in the Leagues Cup loss.
“We have gotta get over that,” Pareja said after the match.
