Throughout his first three seasons with Orlando City, winger Chris Mueller spent his down time writing a book — he just didn’t realize it at the time.
Since he became a professional soccer player, the winger tried to set the habit of writing every day. Sometimes it just meant jotting down a few thoughts in a notebook; other days, it was an hour spent in front of his computer.
After several years of the routine, Mueller realized he’d filled over 200 pages with his thoughts and advice — enough to fill a book.
Last week, the Lions’ star self-published a compilation of those reflections in “Bet on Yourself,” a volume focused on personal growth and mentality.
