KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Orlando City is focusing on set pieces ahead of its first road match of the season against the Colorado Rapids.
Before the season opener, defender Antonio Carlos hinted centerbacks might be targeted on set pieces, using their imposing size as an advantage in the box. Against Real Salt Lake, Carlos and fellow centerback Robin Jansson were targeted on corner kick set pieces, but the plays didn’t yield positive gains for the Lions.
Orlando City earned 12 corner kicks, but only three of them connected to build a play, with none yielding a scoring chance.
