Orlando City wades into international waters on Thursday with a first-ever match against a non-domestic opponent as the Lions host Santos Laguna in the first round of the Leagues Cup.
For the Lions, the match — which will kick off at 7:30 pm. with a live broadcast on ESPN+ and TUDN — provides a test against top Liga MX competition during a break in MLS regular-season programming.
“We’re going to take it very seriously, as we do with every other match,” defender João Moutinho said. “It’s a competition that, if we win three games, we raise a trophy, so we are very excited to get going.
