Orlando City confirmed Thursday it has a verbal agreement to loan young designated player Bryan Róchez to Honduran club Real España for six months.
The 21-year-old Honduran forward has not lived up to expectations since signing with Orlando City before the club’s inaugural season. He joined the Lions as a transfer from the club to which he will return.
Róchez was signed as one of three designated players on Orlando City's roster. The others are Kaká and Carlos Rivas. A spokesman for the club said details and logistics of the verbal agreement still are being worked out, but Róchez will continue to hold a designated player spot on the roster unless Orlando City decides to release him.
