Orlando City has worked not just to add pieces to its roster going into the club’s second MLS season, but also to reward some of the players already on the books.
The Lions signed right back Rafael Ramos to a new multi-year contract after his standout first season in MLS, the defender confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel. The deal includes two guaranteed seasons and two option years.
Ramos was on a reserve minimum salary of $50,000 last year, but started 24 of the 25 games in which he appeared. Ramos, 21, earned more than $30,000 in bonus money due to his playing time and was set to be upgraded to the senior roster.
