Some mothers who attend Orlando City’s rivalry match against Atlanta United will be treated to more than just a game between two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference.
The first 1,000 mothers who come to the match, which is at 6 p.m. on Sunday, will receive a purple rose, courtesy of Orlando City coach Jason Kreis.
The promotion is “a small token of appreciation and recognition for all of you mothers out there,” Kreis said in a video released on Twitter.
Kreis, speaking to reporters earlier in the week, said playing on Mother’s Day is special for the club.
