ORLANDO — So why isn’t second-year forward Chris Mueller starting matches for Orlando City?
The 22-year-old spark plug has positively impacted just about every match he’s played in so far this season. He came on in the 80th minute of Orlando City’s 4-3 win over the Colorado Rapids to chants of “We want Mueller!” from the crowd at Orlando City Stadium and leveled the match at three goals apiece a minute later.
After the win, Orlando City coach James O’Connor said he decided Mueller would be able to make an impact coming off the bench.
“The big thing for us, we sat down with Chris and I just said to him, ‘Listen you’re not going to start this one,'” O’Connor said after Saturday’s match.
