Orlando City is finalizing a deal to sign of Portuguese midfielder Nani to a Designated Player contract, per Paul Tenorio of The Athletic ($). The Mane Land’s sources confirm that a deal is nearly complete but not quite 100% just yet. If Nani is signed to a DP deal, Orlando City would have to buy down a current DP or buy out a contract.
After coming up with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, the winger was acquired by English giants Manchester United in 2007 where he was seen as the long-term replacement for the aging Ryan Giggs.
