With his team trailing by a goal in Toronto on Saturday night, Orlando City forward Benji Michel clawed the Lions back into the match with a haphazard sprint from midfield.
The run took Michel into the box, around a defender and through Toronto keeper Alex Bono. After moments of confusion, the referee sent the Lions to the penalty spot.
In his second penalty attempt of the year, captain Luis Nani stutter-stepped before smashing a shot on frame, where it ricocheted off Bono’s glove and into the net.
The goal counted for Nani’s sixth of the year, tying his goal production from 2020 as he leads the Lions in offense.
