When the television camera panned to coach Jason Kreis after Orlando City’s first red card, he looked dumbfounded for only a brief moment before turning to his assistants and mouthing, “Let’s go to a 4-4-1, 4-4-1.”
While the rest of the stadium cried out with fury over what appeared to be the unwarranted ejection of right back Rafael Ramos, Kreis seemed to remain unemotional and focused.
That didn’t mean he agreed with the decision made in the 26th minute of the Lions’ 0-0 draw with the Chicago Fire on Sunday night.
Monday, Orlando City submitted an appeal to review the red card, a spokeswoman for the club told the Orlando Sentinel.
