Orlando City acquired goalkeeper Brandon Austin from English side Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the upcoming 2021 season.
The 22-year-old will add young depth to the Lions goalkeeping core, which is led by Peruvian star Pedro Gallese.
Although Gallese provided a standout performance in his MLS debut last season — going 11-3-5 in goal with 52 saves and three shutouts — he’ll be absent for much of this upcoming season due to a packed international schedule with the Peruvian national team.
Last year, the Lions could count on the veteran stability of Brian Rowe as a backup keeper.
