Orlando City acquires Ecuadorian attacker Alexander Alvarado on loan

Orlando City added forward Alexander Alvarado to its well-stocked attacking core, the club announced Tuesday.

The Ecuadorian winger comes to the Lions on loan from S.D. Aucas in the Ecuadorian top flight, where he spent the last three years. The short-term contract will last through the remainder of 2020, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

“Alexander possesses a great amount of versatility, able to play on the left, on the right or at the center,” Orlando City vice president of soccer operations Luiz Muzzi said in a news release. “We’re excited to welcome another young, dynamic addition to our team and think he has a bright future ahead of him.
