The Warriors (1-0), fresh off a loss in last year’s Sunshine State Athletic Conference championship game, opened their regular season Friday night in Maitland with a methodical 23-0 win at Orangewood Christian (0-2).
Perhaps most telling for a program that started one junior and four freshmen along the offensive line was a 12-play, 97-yard drive that resulted in a touchdown with nine seconds to spare in the first half.
Sophomore quarterback Vilay Nakkoun capped the effort by pushing his way into the end zone from two yards out after going to the air the previous two plays for big gains.
