Orioles manager Brandon Hyde leaned toward the monitor. Music boomed from the auxiliary tent at Buffalo’s Sahlen Field that serves as the visitor’s locker room. His players had not celebrated in one in nearly two months, and they were determined to make up for lost time.
Hyde couldn’t help but chuckle as he struggled to hear the first question of his postgame Zoom call with reporters after the Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5, in 10 innings, ending a 20-game road losing streak.
“We’re partying like we won a wild-card game right now, and rightfully so,” Hyde said.
