Orange County’s public high schools plan to open their campuses for sports workouts directed by coaches on Monday, July 6, with cautionary restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Seminole County cleared its public schools for limited outdoor workouts on June 8. Teams in Osceola and Lake teams were given the green light to start back up this week.
“As a district, our focus has and will always be on a return that is safe for students and staff,” OCPS media relations manager Michael Ollendorff stated in an email sent to the Sentinel. “Once the district received guidance from the Florida Department of Education, we were able to move forward.
