Mackay-Steven, who appeared in 12 matches in 2019 after transferring from Aberdeen, has the benefit of being familiar with the new City head coach, Ronny Deila. The Scotland native played under Deila for two seasons at Glasgow Celtic FC.
“He’s a really intense manager and he likes his teams to press a lot – 90 minutes of high intensity,” Mackay-Steve said. “I think he’s a perfect manager for the players we’ve got here.
