High school football games this week involving teams in three Orlando area counties have been canceled due to COVID-19.
Orange County Public Schools announced late Thursday two positive COVID-19 cases at Freedom High School and contact tracing concerns at Celebration High in Osceola County will sideline three of the district’s schools in Week 6 of the regular season.
Freedom (1-2) was scheduled to play at East River (2-1) on Friday. Ocoee (2-1), ranked No. 9 in the Sentinel Super 16, was slated to travel to Celebration (0-2). Now both games have been canceled.
In Lake County, Leesburg (0-2) will have the night off after contact tracing at The Villages forced the Buffalo (3-0) to pull out of that game.
