Just when we were thinking No. 1 ranked Orlando Christian Prep and No. 2 Oak Ridge had distanced themselves from the rest of the pack both of those teams found themselves falling behind in Saturday’s Showdown in O-Town boys basketball event at OCP.
The host Warriors were on the ropes, down by 15 at home late in the second quarter against a No. 4 Windermere High team that was definitely up for the challenge. The Wolverines led by eight with under two minutes to go before OCP found a way to escape with a 62-59 victory.
The win preserved a 33-game OCP winning streak that dates to last season’s Class 2A championship run.
