Almost exactly one year since the murder of Ocoee football star Dexter Rentz Jr., Ocoee High was mourning yet another young life Monday.
The passing of Aaron WIlson, a former Ocoee player who died at age 17 after a year-long battle with cancer, was another devastating reality of life taken far too soon.
“It’s tough. It never gets easy and it’s something that you’re never going to accept,” Ocoee football coach Aaron Sheppard said. “I don’t think it should be that way. It’s something that you can’t control and it’s a tough thing to deal with.”
Rentz was shot and died April 25, 2020, the victim of a drive-by shooting as he was leaving a post-funeral gathering in Orlando.
