With a new field being installed at Yankee Stadium, the home of the New York Red Bulls will once again host to a Concacaf Champions League match for rival New York City FC.
The club and Concacaf announced NYCFC will host Tigres in the first leg of the CCL quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 11 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
With the Third Rail supporters’ group boycotting the match, NYCFC defeated AD San Carlos, 1-0, to advance to the quarterfinals, 6-3 on aggregate in front of over 2,700 spectators.
The teams flagship supporters group has reconsidered their stance and will lift the boycott on March 11.
