WINTER GARDEN — The top-ranked Jones High School Tigers overcame an early deficit to defeat No. 14 West Orange 38-21 in high school football on Friday night.
The Tigers (6-0) smothered the host Warriors' offensive attack for most of the rest of the night and pulling away to remain undefeated.
After the Jones defense gave up a touchdown to West Orange (4-3) on a deep ball from Tyler Huff to Jayden Gibson with 47 seconds to go in the first quarter, putting the Warriors ahead 14-7, it would be 34 minutes and two seconds of game time before the home team would score again.
