Oviedo and host Timber Creek were both 8-0-0 headed into their titanic girls soccer showdown on a cold Thursday night.
A year ago, the Lions and Wolves played to a 0-0 stalemate in the regular season. Perennial postseason power Oviedo prevailed 2-0 in a district final.
“We knew coming in that it would be a tough challenge,” 16th-year Oviedo coach Scott Waisanen said of Thursday night’s match. “They were undefeated for a reason.
