In normal times, Orlando Christian Prep’s 25-0 boys basketball record against a challenging schedule would be the ultimate accomplishment going into this week’s FHSAA state tournament.
But in a year where the threat of COVID-19 hung like a gray cloud over every practice, every game and every team, Warriors head coach Treig Burke said the highlight of 2020-21 thus far may be that his team has not lost a player to a positive test for even one day.
“Because of the pandemic, we started this season off just being thankful and focused on getting to play another game, one game at a time,” Burke said Monday.
