Amidst the opening of the 2018 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) preseason, nine Orlando Pride players will be representing their respective national teams over the coming weeks.
Four Orlando Pride players have received national team call-ups for the 2018 Algarve Cup, the 25th edition of the annual women’s soccer tournament based in Portugal. 2018 NWSL College Draft pick Nádia Gomes will represent the host country, while defender Alanna Kennedy and midfielder Emily van Egmond will represent for Australia and defender Shelina Zadorsky for Canada.
The call-up marks the first time Gomes, 21, has received a senior team call for Portugal.
