HARRISON, N.J. — At the New York Red Bulls annual Media Day ahead of the club’s 25th season in Major League Soccer, it was announced midfielder Sean Davis was named captain.
He became the first homegrown player in the club’s history to wear the armband and follows in the footsteps of players like Peter Vermes, Tony Meola, Tab Ramos, Youri Djorkaeff and Thierry Henry, among others.
Pro Soccer USA’s Dylan Butler sat down with Davis to discuss being named captain and the 2020 season.
Dylan Butler: I know this wasn’t something that you were necessarily aspiring to do, but now that it’s official, how does it feel to be named Red Bulls captain?
