When Orlando City first announced Jason Kreis as its new head coach, club president Phil Rawlins and other board members heaped praise on the young, talented visionary who they said "checked all the boxes."
A day later, it was Kreis' turn to gush about his new club, using the same phrasing.
"I couldn't be more happy or excited at this moment," Kreis, 43, said during a press conference Wednesday introducing him to the community. "Orlando City Soccer Club will be, for me, the ideal soccer club scenario on literally every front."
He went on to cite the many reasons he believes Orlando is the right fit: the local support system and fan base, veteran leaders and young talent on the team, a soccer-specific grass stadium set to open in 2017, the developmental USL side and academy and new training facility in Lake Nona on track to open next year as well.
