NBA, WNBA to paint ‘Black Lives Matter’ on courts when play resumes, report says

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association are planning to paint “Black Lives Matter” on ESPN Wide World of Sports courts when they resume play next month in Orlando, according to ESPN.

Some WNBA players also reportedly have suggested wearing warm-up shirts with the message “Say Her Name” on them in honor of female victims of police brutality, including Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed by police serving a no-knock warrant in her home in Louisville, Kentucky. No one has been charged in connection with Taylor’s death.

WNBA players have supported the Black Lives Matter movement extensively in the past, with the league waiving penalties any protest shirts they wore in 2016.
