NASCAR will make fewer left turns this season, tossing in plenty of rights and a U-ie or two along the way for good measure.
The sport’s continued embrace of road racing will kick off the unofficial start of the season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the running of the 35-lap Busch Clash on the Daytona International Speedway’s 14-turn, 3.61-mile layout. The race will be broadcast nationally on FS1.
NASCAR drivers switching from oval to road racing last August at the iconic track caught on with fans. Decision-makers responded by expanding the re-tooled 2021 to include seven road races at six tracks, including stalwarts Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International.
